Weather Policy
If you've hired our play equipment to be used outdoors, you have to be prepared for poor weather (we are in England after all!).
We regularly check the weather in the run up to your hire date. We will do our best to work with you and try to accommodate any changes that may occur as a result of poor weather if we have enough notice to plan for it.
When Hiring Soft Play & Non Inflatables
Non inflatables refers to all of our play equipment that does not require inflating e.g. Ball Ponds, Soft Play Packages, Toys & Big Games and Soft Play Frames.
If it is predicted to rain on the day of your event, we will send you a message a few days before so you're aware of the forecast (which may change). This will give you a chance of having a back up plan before the day if the weather turns out to be poor on the day.
We don't want our play equipment wet and muddy and certainly don't want any small children catching a cold from playing in the rain so if poor weather is predicted, it is often best to move the event indoors, or provide a full marquee with professional hard flooring. You can check the measurements of all of our play equipment, including minimum space required on each product page to ensure what you've hired will fit any indoor space.
We will give you the choice of going ahead or cancelling before the day in the event that poor weather is predicted. We require at least 48 hours cancellation notice for refunds to be issued.
If you decide to go ahead and have the play equipment and it rains on the day, no refunds will be issued.
When Hiring Inflatables e.g. Bouncy Castles
Wind and Gusts
When setting up inflatables, we are bound by the HSE regulations, specifically BSEN:14960:2013. It specifies the weather conditions in which inflatables can be set up outdoors.
In accordance with BSEN:14960:2013, the maximum wind speed in which inflatables shall be used outdoors is 38 km/h (Force 5 on the Beaufort Scale). This works out to 24 mph and includes gust speeds.
If the predicted gust/wind speed is in 24 mph or higher, we will not be able to set up any inflatables outdoors and will cancel the booking. We will try to give you as much notice as possible so that alternative play equipment can be arranged.
We keep a close eye on gust and wind speeds in the run up to your event date however, these speeds are sometimes only predicted on the morning of the day.
Not only is this a legal requirement, but a safety precaution. We have to ensure that all inflatables we set up outside are secure and unmovable by winds.
