26 February 2016 - Why we need a minimum space.

Disclaimer: The bouncy castle pictured was not provided or set up by Dancing Cubs.

The picture for this blog post is a prime example of why we ask for a minimum space for all of our bouncy castles and other play items. Can you spot the problem?

The most obvious and dangerous issue in the picture is the side slide. Children will come sliding down the slide head first and smash their heads in to the wall. They will come sliding down legs first and break/shatter their legs. Although there is a mat on the wall to provide some sort of padding, it is not sufficient. During the course of the party, that mat can and will move. Multiple children will attempt to come down the slide and will have no where to safely land.

It is so so tempting to squeeze play equipment in to small spaces but it really is not a good idea. Serious injury (in this instance brain damage (extreme but possible!) is at risk to your children and other people's children so always measure the space and make sure you have sufficient space before hiring any bouncy castle.

We want your celebration to be a success however, if we arrive at your venue and there is insufficient space for the play equipment you have hired to be safely set up, we reserve the right to not leave our play equipment for the safety and well being of all children and no refunds will be issued. All of our bouncy castles and other play equipment has detailed space requirements available to check before you hire any play equipment.

We've written this blog post not to shame the person who provided it but to educate you on things to avoid for a an accident free, efficient and stress free day. We advise you to always measure the space you have available before hiring any play equipment or bouncy castle. All of our Ball Ponds, Bouncy Castles and Soft Play packages and other play equipment have the minimum space required to safely operate them available on our website.
