How Soft Play Hire Works – How Do Children Play with Soft Play?
If you’re new to the world of soft play hire in London, you might be wondering – what exactly is soft play, and how do children use it? At Dancing Cubs, we specialise in delivering premium soft play, ball ponds, and a full range of toddler-friendly play equipment across London, so we’ve seen it all – from cautious crawlers to full-speed tumblers!
In this blog, we’ll walk you through how soft play hire works, what’s included, and how children typically engage with our soft play setups at parties, corporate events, weddings, and more.
🎈 What is Soft Play?
Soft play is a type of play environment made up of soft foam equipment covered in PVC – designed to allow babies, toddlers and young children to play actively and safely. It can include shapes to climb and crawl through, slides, rockers, climbing frames, and ball ponds.
We deliver and install everything for you, and return at the end of your event to pack it away. You simply choose your preferred soft play package, select the date and time on our calendar, and we'll do the rest!
🧸 How Do Children Interact with Soft Play?
Soft play is open-ended, meaning children use it in lots of different ways depending on their age and development stage:
-
Babies tend to sit, crawl, or lay on the padded mats and explore shapes with their hands and mouths (we clean everything thoroughly – learn about our ball cleaning system!).
-
Toddlers will start to climb, stack, roll, and explore the different textures and colours.
-
Older children will invent obstacle courses, use their imaginations to turn shapes into castles or vehicles, or simply bounce around with glee!
Soft play encourages physical activity, balance, problem solving, social interaction, and – most importantly – fun!
